In 2025, CCGG continued to be a leading and consistent voice at home and internationally, advocating on behalf of its members during a period of significant regulatory engagement and public policy activity focused on shareholder rights, corporate governance, and evolving ESG topics.
- Engagement: CCGG engaged with the independent directors of 25 public company issuers in 2025, including four first time engagements.
- Regulatory: During 2025, CCGG staff with input and guidance from the Public Policy Committee, the Environmental and Social Committee, and the Board, made several public submissions to regulatory bodies on a broad range of ESG topics. CCGG also intervened before the Supreme Court of Canada in a case considering what constitutes a “material change” under securities law.
- Policy: In 2025, CCGG launched the updated Building High Performance Boards and the new Executive and Director Compensation Guidebook, and published a new Investor Perspective: 2024 Look Back – Gildan Activewear: A Corporate Governance Case Study.
